1 ) 新加坡音乐电影的强弱所在
Music
It is a musical, in the movie there are lots of Hokkien songs and Chen Jinlang’s famous songs. It is a movie full of local music and local feeling. It combined old songs and new songs together but audience won’t feel strange. Then the content of songs is all about sadness and with dolorous music, like ailment, separate, destiny. The lyrics are also reflection of Papaya sister’s own destiny.
Stage and costume design
Then design of stage and costume in this movie is flowery, give audience pleasure to eyes. For example of the last competition between Papaya sister and Durian sister, they changed many enchanting dresses on a glorious stage but sing some sadness songs with happy tune. This design emphasized the contrast between stage and true life. Reflect worldliness and flashy taste in those years.
Uncanny and funny factors
At the beginning of movie, director use funny cartoon and voice over give a brief introduction of the sister’s childhood. Then use main actor Guanyin’s voice over explain the whole story. There are many weird scenes in the movie, like the part of the queen of singing. It seems totally ridiculous there’s such queen, made audience feel funny. Then it happened many times when competition there is flash fire between two sisters like old fashion kung fu movies always did.
This is a typical method to represent a tragicomedy.
Actor and actress
The director had used many real Getai singers. Like MC Lin li、Wang lei and brother of Chen Jin-lang. One of the main actresses Ling Ling Liu is used to be a Getai singer. The “small papaya” Mindee Ong and “big papaya” Yann Yann Yeo are both singer. There is also a blind singer singing in front of the temple is a real exist person. He just actor his real life before he is famous by a sing competition show——Super Star. We can still remember the sad song he was singing as it is so impressive.
Because most of them are familiar with the Getai or have the similar experience as the one they act, so their performances are natural and easily touch audience’s heart.
Different languages
Singapore is a multinational country which has 4 official languages. They always mixed different languages together and everyone can understand several languages. This character represent clearly in this film. The aunt speaks Fujianese, dummy and sister use Mandarin, some one use Cantonese and English too. The most important part is three women in the temple “daxiaoren”( hit the baddies). Aunt used several languages to curse, this cause a funny effect.
Signification
This is a movie based on Singapore’s traditional Ghost day singing show. Brigs the idea of friendship, love, family, struggle and so on, especially the Hokkien spirit which is never give up. Expect this, movie bring out another profound meaning as death. “Small papaya” is a role who count for her own life and struggle to the destiny, she is the epitome of everyone. Everybody in the world should face the problem of death, no one can escape, so what we could do is just cherish what we own now and live with hope. The canniness of the director is he put those significations in the plot, move audience gradually.
2 ) 一人一半,感情不散
生命、友情、爱情、奋斗等等主题的融合,音乐、歌舞、幻想、游戏等等手法的杂糅,两位主角真实不矫饰的演绎,和对逝去年代情调的追忆,以及导演对华族民间文化秉持的态度,让我觉得这是一部不错的片子,歌舞的地方与民间风格真是很独特。那些如今听来似已过时的歌曲,我觉得却是老百姓心底真挚的声音。
主题曲很好听。老老的调子,却温暖着人心。。
3 ) 金曲吐一首,多少歌台梦
在这个常吃papaya的国度里,这样满怀朴素心愿的木瓜姐妹,那样的万种风情、欢歌悲曲,为新加坡的七月歌台文化做了经典印象。
一人一半,感情不散。独夜无伴守灯下,清风对面吹,十七八岁未出嫁,想著少年家……
如此“声乐”,能不“溺于”?。
金曲吐一首,多少歌台梦。
4 ) 一个喜欢月亮,一个喜欢星星
一个喜欢月亮,一个喜欢星星。
听他读前面那一段,就笑了,很温馨的样子。这感觉在看《天使爱米丽》的时候有过。
3个长片,除了《4:30》,都是带搞笑,奇异(荒诞)加歌舞的。恐怕对于福建歌不太熟悉,或许片中有许多令人回味的东西我看不出来。
一个喜欢月亮,一个喜欢星星。所以他们总是很开心……新加坡的国旗。
5 ) 这歌是闽南语 台语 福建话~~
我觉得是部 歌舞+生活剧
情节正常 甚至可以说有点俗套,具有强烈的地方气息,
歌曲很出彩,都是经典,加上服装舞美,把歌台这个情景展现的很动人。
因为是生活剧,所以 感觉有点小,小生活,小人物,不磅礴但是贴近。
有些情节还带有魔幻色彩啊~觉得蛮土蛮搞笑~
一切的一切,如果你不懂闽南语,那么感觉会大打折扣
所以不懂的童鞋,3星是我给你们的建议评分。

我小时候是听着这些歌长大的
越长大 越觉得它们好听
听着他们,
我想起了小时候的夜晚,海边,星星,大背心,竹椅大蒲扇,有微风~
想起了厦门,多云的下午,长发女孩们在蜿蜒的小上坡上慢行,粗蓝白色的棉布长裙~
一个星加给闽南语。
一开场的闽南语其实有点出乎我意料,我原以为台词会是新加坡式英语普通话闽南语混合,但整个片子却保持了以闽南话为主体。请原谅我小小的盲目优越感作祟。
这一点台湾现在都少有片子采用。
新加坡在这方面的文化保存做的真是蛮好~
而在大陆,闽南地区缺少这样的氛围和自我认同。
我很想自私的喊喊:为什么人家新加坡有地道的闽南语电影 而我们没有??
PS:小木瓜在台上好漂亮~~发现南边的女孩很多是大牙 哈~~
里面每首歌我都会唱,要拉我老妈来唱!
6 ) 假戏真做
最能表现中国人世俗生活与精神世界的电影。导演在俯仰之间,洞察中国人生命的特质。
红红绿绿的七月歌台,那些个看不见的“好兄弟”们。代表着古老而早熟的中国人对阴阳两个世界的看法—世俗的生,超脱的死,再因爱而轮回。人生苦短,不过是一台大戏。台上唱的也好,台下看的也好,他唱罢你登场,不须急,无法替,一切早有安排,一切早已看破。
一切早已看破,假戏仍要真做。
真是歌舞片啊
歌台文化,闽南歌和上世纪六十年代的赶场一景,差点把刘玲玲看成林美秀,还想着林美秀也会说广东话。整部片子神神叨叨,但还是很诙谐的,我喜欢这种怀旧重情的感觉,越来越喜欢杨雁雁了。
新加坡七月歌台的文化背景比较少见,看完才知道狮城有那么多闽南人。影像质朴乡土却又天马行空,有跟港台不一样的趣味。两姐妹穿梭阴阳界以歌声和舞姿安魂度人,每首歌都很动听,歌词饱蘸人情冷暖。王欣演活了可爱、泼辣又苦命的小木瓜,最后“还阳”返台无限唏嘘。对手“榴莲姐妹”一口英文风骚无限,显然是华人社区本位眼中的异类。
本来是一个很好的题材,关于艺术家为梦而生,为梦而死的情怀。结果拍得不清不楚,到处胡乱煽情。开头很有趣,具有骗人功效,后面那些超现实的场面怎么看怎么恶心。
虽然我一向标榜以非常宽容的心态去看电影,但是我实在吃不消这部新加坡闽南语歌舞片。
《4:30》、《15》,陈子谦又带来了新的数字:《881》

陈子谦还是有点才的,715的演技也逐渐成熟.不过还是非常非常的腼腆,今年红星都快哭了..

歌曲好听,但闽南语真是聒噪。
一人一半,感情不散...这样的人,这样地等,无非是等个回应眼神...已经找到爱,为何要离开...听到片尾曲,落泪了.
新加坡电影神奇的地方是90年代拍的和现在拍的看起来服装品味和画面都一样土,怎么能保持这么久不换潮流呢太神奇了。。。所以说热带的地方没时尚是真的吗
陈子谦喜欢用数字命名,如《15》。人如其名,导演是个谦谦君子。木瓜姐妹=papaya=881。福建歌很赞,唱歌台也很赞,得有多少情怀才会去关注这些传统和习俗。反正我是哭得一把鼻涕一把泪…想看《15》——又叛逆又罪又美的青春。
沒有字幕,有的時候感覺在聽天書...但是很喜歡小木瓜...

碟絮里,导演的采访说:“看完我片子的人,需要勇气”。真心同意啊!为毛豆瓣各个都是4星5星啊,我看到最后坚持不下去了都跳起来了!!不过不得不说,这片子很妖!!!
